Thank you to all my Team Boomer team mates for the nice comments on my NYM '09 blog. I am happy that you enjoyed it.
Congratulations to everyone that completed their journey this past Sunday in New York, a journey that begun for us many months ago and ended in spectacular fashion in Central Park.
Thank you to the BEF and Team Boomer for providing us the platform to be able to raise money on behalf of a cure for Cystic Fibrosis.

Jerry: Here's to a successful transplant!
Everyone: Here's something I've always wanted to discuss in a sports format. The year Boomer retired, he was absolutely amazing. He was playing for a so-so team yet continually led them to victory after victory. I was a little surprised he decided to hang it all up. (At least, that's how I remember it.)
One other thing: Boomer came to my CF center one year and gave out 5 autographed footballs in a random drawing. I won one and as I was going up to get it, I thought he gave me sort of an odd look. I think it was because I really don't LOOK like a CFer and I was one of the older ones in the room. I wanted to tell him that, yes I do have a significant respiratory and GI component but didn't get the chance. Anyway, he didn't just hand me the football, he passed it to me. And I caught it! I like to tell people I caught one of Boomer's passes.
Yeah, most people either love or hate the Cowboys. Like I said, though, I'm very loyal to my Dallas teams. Though the Rangers haven't done much in comparison with the Yankees, I really like the team they've put together this year. The one word I would use to describe them is grit. They're a gritty bunch of players, young and old, who don't know how to quit...even when they were impossibly out of playoff contention (see the months of April & May). They have no trouble finding big bats (see Josh Hamilton, Ian Kinsler, Michael Young...). They need bigger arms. The pitching staff is remaining somewhat stable this year - a remarkable feat given the rash of injuries to some of our starters...including Brandon McCarthy.
That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!
Thanks for joining Team Boomer!
