About Me:
Hi - I am 51 years old with cystic fibrosis and LIVING. BREATHING. SUCCEEDING everyday. I volunteer at the Boomer Esiason Foundation as I await a double lung transplant and am very involved working on podcasts, scholarships, and grants. My passion in life is EXERCISE especially Track and Field specializing in the pole vault. The single most important thing in my life that has kept me healthy is exercise.
Attended UCONN and competed for the NYAC and currently coach high school pole vaulters.

I have asthma and diabetes and acid refluxs. My fev 1 is 30%. I get tired easi
ly sometimes and short of breath. I have had two bad caughing attacks this week where the ambulance took me to the hospital. That took alot out of me and my lungs.For my age im doing good for someone with cf. So that is a good think and so are you. Hope all is well? Do you ever have that bad of caughing attacks. That is the first i have experienced that, Have a wonderful weekened? Take Care!

What is your Fev 1 at? How are you feeling? Do you have diabetes and asthma and acid refluxs? Are you still able to do as much stuff as you use to?

Do you feel alot sicker sense being put on the lung transplant? Do you ever get put in the hospital? Are you on Oxygen ever? I have beeb pretty sick this year with my cf. I can't go on the transplant list yet.

Thank you to all my Team Boomer team mates for the nice comments on my NYM '09 blog. I am happy that you enjoyed it.
Congratulations to everyone that completed their journey this past Sunday in New York, a journey that begun for us many months ago and ended in spectacular fashion in Central Park.

Thursday run......

As training winds down for me and for all the runners running on Sunday in New York, today called for a 4 miler. Overcast, mid 50;s, wind out of the NE at about 10mph.. The plan was to run easy for the majority of the run with about mile at marathon effort- the conditions led to faster paces than I planned but the effort was very easy. 2 miles at 7 min pace followed by 2 miles at 6.15 pace....
