I had been running as you know and taking one yoga class per week, but something was missing. Even once/week personal training has made a huge difference in lung capacity. Still not triathlon material, but this puts me in the running!

About Me:

For those of you who don't know me, I'm the Social Media Coordinator for the Boomer Esiason Foundation. If you have any questions about the Foundation or about Team Boomer please don't hesitate to message me.

As for me...I'm a native Texan (born in El Paso, grew up in Dallas) but moved here to New York City last September. As you might expect, that's quite a change in culture. :) I could go on and on about the differences between the two, but I'd have to say among the many things I love about New York, nothing compares with using the subway. I can honestly say I DO NOT miss driving a car. I like the independence it brings, but I'm sure some of you are wincing at gas prices nowadays. So...a vote for public transportation from me during this election year.

Another thing about me...I love sports. I'm completely and unequivocally loyal to my Dallas teams, but recently enjoyed my first Yankees game. I'm a Texas Rangers fan at heart, but I can truly appreciate baseball history, especially given that Yankee stadium is in its last year.

I like playing soccer, football, basketball and baseball. I've never played ice hockey (not that you would've expected me to in Texas). For the most part though, I enjoy running. Its fantastic exercise and allows me to spend some time outdoors. I'll run on a treadmill only if I have to. In my mind, nothing compares to a run outdoors, especially if its a beautiful day.

I haven't seen many movies lately, but a few of my favorites are Saving Private Ryan, the Bourne Identity series, and the Ocean's 11 series. I'm also a fan of Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Spiderman, Superman...you get the picture.

Anyway, that's me in a nutshell. Like I said, if you have any questions about Team Boomer...any at all...please don't hesitate to message me. That's what I'm here for.

Thank you to all my Team Boomer team mates for the nice comments on my NYM '09 blog. I am happy that you enjoyed it.
Congratulations to everyone that completed their journey this past Sunday in New York, a journey that begun for us many months ago and ended in spectacular fashion in Central Park.
Thank you to the BEF and Team Boomer for providing us the platform to be able to raise money on behalf of a cure for Cystic Fibrosis.

Thursday run......

As training winds down for me and for all the runners running on Sunday in New York, today called for a 4 miler. Overcast, mid 50;s, wind out of the NE at about 10mph.. The plan was to run easy for the majority of the run with about mile at marathon effort- the conditions led to faster paces than I planned but the effort was very easy. 2 miles at 7 min pace followed by 2 miles at 6.15 pace....
