After a nice relaxing day off Monday from running ( still had to work :) - it was back to track on Tuesday...
1 mile warm up 1 mile strides overcast, rain held off, 15-18mph wind from NNE
4 X 1 mile with 400 jog:
6.21.66 Nice and relaxed 5.54.07 - still relaxed, trying to run 1 minute faster than avg. goal marathon pace, felt good - then a harder 3rd mile in 5.24.59 (2.43-2.41 neg.split) then a relaxed 6.37.55 back at marathon type effort that I plan in running in the 2nd half of the marathon. I felt great throughout the workout and hope to feel the same on Sunday. This was the end of any real training before Sunday save a couple of lighter runs with a little marathon effort sprinkled in here and there. It was good to have Nick out there at the track as he was doing his 300's as he has been there throughout my marathon training journey. He is preparing for s solid indoor season and although he is my athlete, he has been as much a training partner over these past months.

Thursday run......

As training winds down for me and for all the runners running on Sunday in New York, today called for a 4 miler. Overcast, mid 50;s, wind out of the NE at about 10mph.. The plan was to run easy for the majority of the run with about mile at marathon effort- the conditions led to faster paces than I planned but the effort was very easy. 2 miles at 7 min pace followed by 2 miles at 6.15 pace.... Time now to stretch and relax. The run felt great and I am looking forward to Sunday. Today's run prett… Continue
