About Boomer Esiason - Football Career • Selected as the 37th pick in the 1984 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals from the University of Maryland • Veteran quarterback of 14 years with the Cincinnati Bengals, New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals (1984-1997) • NFL Most Valuable Player (1988) • Four-time Pro Bowl selection • The most prolific left-handed quarterback in NFL history when he retired in 1997. Career marks rank among the top ten in the NFL in all-time passing yards, career completions and career attempts. Led the Bengals to Super Bowl XXIII vs San Francisco in 1988. • Esiason set 17 school records for passing and total offense during an All-American career at the University of Maryland.
